DC for GTA V
here’s what i’m thinking;
DC = business/financial sector, like the quasi-manhattan in GTA III and IV
Bethesda = that swath of upper middle class land that’s supposed to be a mix between Queens and the Hamptons in GTA III
Baltimore = the place where your character starts off, seedy scummy Brooklyn like in pretty much every GTA except Vice City and San Andreas, and this would be amazing cuz the whole GTA III franchise was just modern takes on canonical crime film (I assume GTA IV was too but I never played it), and there’s so soooo much to cop from The Wire
Ocean City = cheesy colorful opulent coastal city a la Vice City
plus lots of gorgeous southern countryside like GTA San Andreas, maybe they could throw in a lil college town as a buffer between cities, cuz I don’t think they’ve done that yet
The obvious problem with this is that we live in a police state and depictions of political assassinations are frowned upon. But Beavis and Butthead got away with smuggling a bomb in the White House during the Clinton era, and maybe GTA could get away with it too as long as it’s cartoony enough
